Alaskan Malamutes

Alaskan Malamutes are powerful, substantial, Arctic sled dog originally bred by the Mahlemut people of Alaska to haul heavy loads over long distance. Recognized by their broad heads, erect ears, plumed tails, and dense double coat, they are built, for strength and endurance rather than speed. Malamutes are friendly, affectionate, and independent, with a strong pack instinct, and a famously vocal personality. These intelligent, high energy dogs thrive with plenty of exercise, consistent training, and an experienced owner who appreciates their stubborn streak and adventurous spirit. Malamutes are where our heart first fell inlove with Arctic breeds and started the passion into breed preservation. We are continuing on the 40+ year legacy of the original Earthwind line of Alaskan Malamutes first started by Dorothy Hood.
